In Brazil, Article 49 of the Consumer Protection Code (CDC) guarantees our “Right of Repentance” on any purchase made outside the establishment, whether via internet, telephone, catalog, post office, etc. within 7 days of receiving the product.
Fortunately, Apple has specifically adopted a more flexible policy here in line with that of other countries. As we explained in this February 2014 article, the deadline for returns and refunds in the case of Apple Brazil of 14 days the date of receipt of the product.
As Apple itself explains here:
If you are not completely satisfied with a purchase, you may be able to return the item and get a refund. You have 14 calendar days from the date you receive the selected products / items to initiate a return.
To return an item, visit the Order Status online for 24-hour assistance or call 0800-761-0867, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 9 pm or on Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm, Brasilia time.
So far, nothing new. I'm just reiterating because many could still not know or even have forgotten about this possibility.
But what about readjustments?
Here's the golden tip for the moment. As Apple Brazil strictly follows this policy of returns and refunds, it has also adapted it for cases of price adjustments such as yesterday with iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, Apple TVs and iPods.
Instead of accepting the return of the product, paying the full amount to the consumer and “compelling” him to repurchase it for the lowest amount, Apple Brazil nowadays makes a direct refund of the price difference just by asking for it. basically the same thing, only much faster / more intelligently.
In short: if you purchased one of these products at a low price in the last 14 days, contact Apple Brazil to have the difference in value refunded. Obviously, we are talking about purchases made at Apple's physical stores or online, this policy does not necessarily apply to the company's partner stores (authorized resellers). 😉
