Redmi Note 6 Pro catches fire at a repair center in India

In November last year, a Redmi Note 7s with just one month of use went into spontaneous combustion in India. Now, another similar case involving a Xiaomi smartphone has been reported, curiously in the same country. This time, the victim was the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which caught fire at a repair center.

In the video published by 91mobiles on his Facebook page (click here), we can see that, while the technician tried to open the device, he suddenly went into combustion. We still don't know if the store, which is located in the state of Gujarat, is certified by Xiaomi to perform this type of service.

Anyway, the video shows that the technician was trying to open the back cover of the device when a large amount of smoke started to come out. To prevent the fire from hitting other products on the counter, the boy threw the device on the store floor. Fortunately, no one was hurt in that incident, but the Redmi Note 6 Pro was completely damaged.

It is quite likely that the unit in question does not have any type of guarantee, after all, this model was launched in 2018 as a successor to the Redmi Note 5. However, Xiaomi is expected to investigate the case to find out the real cause of the fire.

It is worth remembering that other smartphones from the company also experienced problems of this type. Among them we can mention the Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi 4c and Mi A1, for example. The latter exploded near the owner while he slept. All of this reminds Samsung in 2016, which suffered a lot due to the incendiary batteries of the Galaxy Note 7.
