Record sales of iPhones makes Apple gain market share; iPads fall, but still keep the edge

The launch of iPhones 6/6 Plus really did Apple very well. With them, the company managed to attract more and more Android users to its ecosystem. Proof of this was that it has been breaking record after record in its fiscal quarters. Now, one more proof that things are going very well for Ma (at least in the smartphone market).

Smartphone sales survey

As the Strategy Analytics, the iPhone now has 10.6% of the world market. To give you an idea, in the same period (second quarter) of 2014, he had 8.2%. The brutal difference. While sales of Apple's smartphone grew 37% in the last quarter (compared to the same period in 2014), reaching 47 million, those of competitors grew 2% on average.

Another that deserves to be highlighted Huawei, which saw its sales grow almost 50%, reaching the mark of 30.6 million. Samsung and Microsoft had a drop in sales (Redmond's company numbers plunged from 50.3 million to 27.8 million).

If the iPhones go well, we cannot say the same thing about iPads.

Within the bad scenario of the tablet market (sales were 7% in the second half of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014), the IDC reported that the iPad had the worst performance, down 17.9%. Still she is the market leader with 24.5%, well ahead of Samsung with its 17%.

Huawei and LG were the ones that grew the most (103.6% and 246.4%, respectively), but the truth is that these percentages are “easy” to reach when you don't sell anything and start selling something.

In general, the life cycle of tablets does seem to be as much or even longer than that of computers, which does not help numbers to go up much.
