Realme held an event in China where it announced several new products, including a new power bank, new headphones and a new smartphone. The company also held an event in India where it announced its first smart TV and its first smartwatch – Realme TV and Realme Watch.
Watch is already on pre-sale in China and officially arrives on June 1st
Realme Watch is Realme's second wearable device. The Realme Band smart bracelet was announced by the company in March of this year. The new smartwatch has a 1.4 touch screen with 320 x 320 resolution and is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. The screen also has a pixel density of 323 ppi (pixels per inch) and a brightness of 380 nits with 10 adjustment levels.
Realme's smart watch comes with 12 custom dials. The standard display shows information such as date, time, weather, heart rate and more. You can select the display using the Realme Link application. The company says another 100 dials will be made available with a future update.
Like the Realme Band, the Realme Watch can monitor the user's heart rate 24 hours a day. One difference is that the watch uses a Goodix sensor. It also features an SpO2 monitor, which monitors blood oxygen levels, and 14 sports modes, including Table Tennis and Badminton.
The watch also offers Camera Control and Music Control features. They basically allow you to use the smartwatch to take pictures with the smartphone's camera and to control the playback of music on the device. As part of its AIoT strategy, Realme has positioned Realme Watch as the center of its AIoT system and future updates will allow multiple devices to be connected to the watch without having to open the smartphone.
Other highlights of Realme Watch include support for smart notifications, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, sleep monitor and more. To ensure that all this works, the watch comes equipped with a 160 mAh battery. Realme states that the battery has autonomy of up to 7 days with the heart rate monitor on and up to 9 days with it off.
Realme Watch has two types of bracelets – Classic and Fashion. The Classic bracelet will only be available in black and Fashion will be available in red, blue and green. The watch arrives costing the equivalent of US $ 53/48 in India and sales will start next June 5th through the Realme website and the Flipkart online store. It will also be sold in physical stores, but not on the same date. It comes with the black Classic bracelet in the box and the Fashion bracelets will be sold separately afterwards for the equivalent of $ 7/6.
