Reading tip: mega evaluation of the iPhone 4S camera by Ars Technica

One of the biggest new features of the iPhone 4S was the improved camera: faster, more powerful, with an extra lens, an infrared filter and more megapixels, considered by many (including some professionals) as the ideal solution to capture unexpected moments. We have already commented on some tests and comparisons (1, 2), but those truly passionate about photography are never satisfied.

Because if information you want, information that is not missing in this comparison made by Ars Technica: the guys placed the camera of Apple's newest smartphone side by side with its previous generation, with Samsung's Galaxy SII and two "real" cameras, the Olympus XZ-1 and the Canon 20D.

Above you see one of the comparisons, with the images in the order in which the cameras were cited, and the general conclusion that the iPhone 4S, despite still having a relevant amount of noise in its photos, has managed to evolve considerably in relation to the iPhone 4 Ultimately, Ma's new smartphone can generate high quality images without the need for an additional bag or briefcase. The Galaxy SII, in turn, was well inclined to apply a reduction in violent noise to everything, in addition to not having a very radiant performance in low light conditions. Do "real" cameras, of course, offer the highest quality possible at what price?
