Psystar is back: out of bankruptcy protection and announces Open (7), with Xeon Nehalem

In a newsletter sent to subscribers to the company's news (received by the TUAW through one of its readers), Psystar appears to have managed to endure the bankruptcy period. Not only is it back in business the way it was before, it has also announced a new computer, the Open (7), with Intel's Xeon Nehalem processor (the same as for Macs Pro).

Psystar fight Apple

The company promised to reveal more information in the coming days, while the last bureaucratic issues are settled. Apparently, she managed to settle her debts, but the lawsuit with Apple continues.

Meanwhile, Open (7), its new offering competing with the Mac Pro, does not have such interesting hardware compared to Apple's: despite the processor offerings (2.66GHz and 2.93GHz quad-core) and storage (up to 4TB on four hard drives) are the same, the machine supports up to 12GB of RAM (against 32GB of Mac Pro) and does not offer an NVIDIA Quadro GPU or an ATI Radeon 4870 as an option. In return, there is an option for a Blu-ray recorder for $ 310.
