Prototype Apple laptop valued at $ 100,000 would have been stolen in December

In a summary of recent police events in Cupertino, the website Zirana described the case of the theft of a $ 100,000 Apple laptop prototype, probably in December.

The suspect in the theft (whose methods have not been described) would have sold the unit to another suspect, with whom the company managed to recover it. This was reportedly released by the police, which are still investigating the crime.

Trade Secret Theft / Possession of Stolen Property – Infinite LoopBetween 1/1 and 12/18, unknown suspect (s) took a prototype laptop worth about $ 100,000 from Apple Computers on Infinite Loop using an unknown method. The suspect (s) sold it to another suspect. Deputies recovered the laptop from the second suspect and he was released pending further investigation.

It is evident that the machine itself is not worth the $ 100,000, the number was probably defined by Apple as something subjective, which includes confidential data stored on the computer or the simple fact that its industrial secret is revealed publicly. As far as we know, however, nothing new related to this has emerged since last month.
