Process ends due to defective NVIDIA cards: consumers will be entitled to exchange or refund

The problem is so old that many of you may have forgotten it: defective NVIDIA GPUs. Remember to live: 1, 2, 3. Well, an agreement ended the lawsuit against the chip maker. Owners of certain notebook models from Apple, Dell and HP who have experienced problems related to NVIDIA components may contact the company to receive free compensation or repairs on their machines.

A website was created especially to guide people who wish to use the judicial decision: there is a page listing all the computer models covered by the replacement program. In the case of Ma, only 15 and 17 inch MacBooks Pro sold between May 2007 and September 2008 that have problems (distorted images or total video absence) are eligible, although the hole is much lower.

The registration period, as stated on the website, will not begin before the final hearing of the case, scheduled for December 20. Notification emails about the case are being sent to buyers residing in the United States: if you happen to receive one of these, please examine it carefully before dismissing it as spam.
