Pro Display XDR also works with iPad Pro and 12 ″ MacBook

The saga of compatibility of Pro Display XDR go far: time of your ad, we came to believe that it would be compatible only with the new Mac Pro. Then, with its release, Apple released the official list of Macs that would support the new monitor, leaving out the iMac Pro; We then confirmed that Ma's most expensive all-in-one professional would work with the equipment, but with one important limitation.

Now guess what: the list of devices (unofficially) compatible with Ma's professional monitor just got a little bigger.

Answering a question by Federico Viticci from the MacStories, O YouTuber Jonathan Morrison decided to test whether the Pro Display XDR would work with 12 inch MacBook (2015, already finished) and with one of the new models of iPad Pro both equipped with USB-C ports, and on Thunderbolt 3. And surprise: both are compatible with the monitor!

In the case of iPad Pro, above, the tablet recognizes Pro Display XDR perfectly, displaying the monitor settings in Settings you can even turn on or off the HDR image transmission. The MacBook (seen below) also recognizes the device perfectly; both transmit images in 5K.

XDR also works with the 12 ″ 2015 MacBook 😅

True, no one will spend $ 5,000 (minimum) on a professional / reference monitor to plug it into a relatively old iPad Pro or MacBook; None of these machines, after all, provide the firepower needed to do the work that is usually done on an XDR Pro Display. Still, nice to know that it works for a leisurely moment, really?
