The PowerPoint application for Android and iPhone devices (iOS) brings a number of its own functions in addition to offering most of the most famous features of its edition for PCs. Among the exclusive options of the mobile version, it is possible to highlight the automatic saving of presentations and the virtual laser pointer, which can be controlled with the smartphone itself.

For those who use PowerPoint mobile to present with the smartphone screen mirrored in a projector, the application offers a virtual laser pointer. Depending on the smartphone or tablet used, the position of the laser can also be controlled in different ways.

To enable the virtual pointer, go to the slide view screen and press the "Annotations" field. In this mode, it is possible to position the laser just by moving the cell phone. If you want to control the pointer with your fingers, however, you must press the slide itself, moving your finger to position the pointer.

In addition to opening files on the smartphone itself and One Drive, Microsoft's cloud storage service, PowerPoint also imports files from Google Drive. With this, when viewing or editing a document that is in the Google cloud, it will not be necessary to download it first.

To import a file directly from the service, open the application's home screen, tap the "Open" tab, and then select "Search". Then, open the file manager on your smartphone, where you can access your Google Drive folders and select the desired document.

As with PC editing, the mobile version of PowerPoint allows you to share entire slides as images. As other applications do not always support presentations in their standard format (.pptx *), exporting the contents in JPEG can make viewing easier.

To export a slide as an image, start editing the desired slide and tap the three-point button on the right of the screen, then select "Share" "Current Slide" "Image". Finish the procedure by choosing the sharing medium.

Not all PowerPoint editions work the same way, and to ensure that a presentation created on the PC can be viewed smoothly on the smartphone, Microsoft offers an automatic and online conversion service.

Although the feature works only if the device is connected to the internet, it ensures that you can edit and view most documents created with other versions of the program. To activate the feature, open the "Accounts" screen, on the home page, go to "Configure" and activate the "Use Microsoft Online Service" option.

In the slide preview screen, in addition to making notes with text, the user can draw in the presentations. Once done, the drawings or notes can be used as reminders by the presenter, as they are invisible to the audience and can only be seen by those who operate the application.

To draw on a slide, open the presentation in viewing mode, navigate to the desired slide and tap the pen icon on the top bar. From then on, it is possible to make the drawings, and you can change the size or color of the pen on the button next to it. To make notes in text, touch the field below "Notes" at any time.

If you need to find a specific term that is in a presentation, be happy to know that the mobile version of PowerPoint also has a word finder. With the tool, the user can find phrases or loose words that are on any slide of the document.

If you want to use the feature at any time, open the desired presentation in editing mode and touch the magnifying glass icon. Then, enter the search term and press the "Search" key. In the results screen, it is possible to navigate between the words found using the arrows next to the search field.

To use this function, you need to open the slide in edit mode and locate the command bar at the bottom of the screen. In this bar, among other editing functions, you can find the buttons to access the camera and the image gallery.

When enabling the "Auto Save" function, PowerPoint will always save your documents automatically. In this way, all slides created or edited will not be lost, even if you do not save them before closing the application. To enable this feature, go to the accounts screen, on the home page, tap "Configure" and activate the option "Automatically Save Files".
