Pollution results in factory shutdown of MacBooks Air housings

Some facilities in a Chinese industry were closed because of the pollution that was causing this type of news that would go unnoticed, were it not for the activity of that company. According to the Wall Street Journal, Catcher Technology responsible for the manufacture of metallic cases for smartphones and MacBooks Air, and a strange odor emanating from certain installations caused complaints from local residents to the government, which resulted in their closure.

"Shipments to our customers will inevitably be affected," said Catcher's president in an official statement. "We have already asked them to make adjustments to their orders." There is no forecast for when the factory that was closed will return to operation, and its production should drop 20% in October and double in the following month.

This could be a problem for Apple: not only has Air proved to be one of its most popular computers, aggravating the effects of any shortages in the production chain, as the company's image in China in terms of sustainability and respect for the environment has recently come going through ups and downs.
