PearC also plans to clone MacBook

German firm PearC, which followed in Psystar's footsteps and started selling its own Mac clones in early February, commented to Macwork UK which also plans to manufacture a laptop that runs Mac OS X. The company continues to claim that it is not doing anything wrong or illegal, so it is therefore immune to Apple.

According to Jan Spitzmacher, press officer at PearC, the notebook requires very complex and special hardware, so the project is more complicated and can take time to get off the ground. According to him, it is difficult to find one that works perfectly with Mac OS X, and PearC will only produce it if absolutely everything works satisfactorily.

So far, Apple has taken no action against PearC, and hasn't even contacted the guys, says Jan.
