Patent to lock: MacBooks with internal cell phone antennas, iMac and iPod touch 1G designs

In August we commented on a patent that showed, to the horror of many people, a MacBook with a retractable antenna. The most modern in 1985, without a doubt. Two patents published today, however, are expected to prevent nightmares from Macs that look like battery radios.

Antenna patent on a MacBook case

The invention describes how windows of special materials can be used to house antennas in electronic devices with metal bodies. Another document describes a camera with magnetic parts to house antennas. Despite being generic enough to have an application on iPhones, iPads and the like, this invention could also be applied to a communication system for larger computers.

In addition to these patents, Apple also won rights to the design of the latest generation of iMac in Europe and China, the design of the first generation iPod touch, the interface of the Calendar and the Nike + iPod on iOS.
