Patent images reveal Huawei's new foldable smartphone. Is it Mate X2?

Huawei continues to set the pace for the global launch of Mate X, the foldable smartphone that is already on sale in China. The first "batch" was sold exclusively at the company's online store and sold out in less than a minute, in November last year, even though it was a limited edition. At the time, he said that he was reviewing his worldwide launch plan for Mate X taking into account the arrival of 5G to different regions of the world.

With the approach of Mobile World Concress, at the end of February, images of a possible new model appear, called Mate X2 and with a forecast that the specialists advance towards the end of 2020. As revealed by the patent sketches submitted by Huawei at EUIPO , there are some notable differences in this model.

First, the stylus fits into the vertical main bar, as can be seen in the hole at the bottom. There is also a set of four chambers at the rear (the original has only three), and two at the front. The corners of the device are rounded, in addition to the smartphone folding inwards, just like the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The first folds outward, which dispensed with the front cameras, unlike the new images.

Bear in mind that patents do not always correspond to equipment produced, but there is a strong probability that the Chinese company will reveal news at MWC.
