Skype faces security issues: Your account could be hijacked.

The Microsoft service security vulnerability was initially reported in a Forum in Russia two months ago. It seems that there is no risk for users at this time, as Skype has eliminated the command that was giving error from the system, disabling this feature. Check out the statement from the Skype developer team:

We have had reports of a new security vulnerability issue. As a precautionary measure, we have temporarily disabled password reset, we are investigating the issue thoroughly. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the user's experience and security are our first priority.

One week ago we reported on the 16-year-old Dutch teenager who had his personal data released by Skype at the request of a private IT company investigating a DDoS packet flood as part of Anonymous's Payback operation against PayPal. which accused a violent breach of the privacy terms of the services, as no court order was issued for such release of data from a user. That is, one of the most widely used communication services around the world is beginning to undermine the rights of users.

Incidentally, disabling the password reset feature for personal accounts is an ephemeral solution as it does not solve the problem, let alone reassure users. If you have been affected in any way by this Skype security issue, let us know in the comments below.
