Parrot AR.Drone: helicopter controlled by iPhone is presented at CES 2010

Parrot will present this week at CES 2010, in Las Vegas, the AR.Drone, a helicopter (actually a quadcopter) controlled by the iPhone / iPod touch via Wi-Fi. The movement, of course, all done by the accelerometer + touch.

The fantastic thing is that, with the use of cameras, accelerometer and digital gyroscope / compass, users will be able to play with virtual games ( there augmented reality), taking down ships and imaginary enemies that they see on the gadget screen. The technology even allows the quadcopter to take off and land automatically.

The Parrot AR.Drone is unfortunately not yet available for purchase and its price has not been disclosed by the company.
