Parallels Desktop celebrates its tenth anniversary and releases version 12 with improvements for those who need to virtualize Windows on Mac

The best and most famous operating system virtualizer for Mac is celebrating its 10th anniversary and its version 12 has just arrived. Parallels Desktop.

The annual upgrade is not the most significant, but it brings some good news including support for macOS Sierra, folder performance up to 25% faster, new presentation mode, password protected files and an online backup service with 500GB of storage.

The company also today announced Parallels Toolbox for Mac, a kind of virtualizer-assisting application that makes it easy to take screenshots, record audio, download videos online, prevent your Mac from hibernating, activate a “Do Not Disturb” mode, among others. Anyone who purchases Parallels Desktop 12 will take it for free, but it will also be sold at $ 10 a year.
