THE Other World Computing ok that: yesterday the manufacturer of docks and accessories for Macs and iGadgets appeared here with the new version of its Thunderbolt 3 dock. Now, here it is again with another very interesting revelation: the USB-C Travel Dock, which brings a series of ports which could be useful for owners of Macs and PCs, can also be used with the third generation iPad Pro.
The manufacturer has tested and made sure that all of its accessory ports are functional on the new Apple tablets – always remembering, of course, the problems that iOS (still) has with external memory volumes. Other than that, everything works wonderfully!
The dock itself, which has been sold for some time, is a reduced version of the model with a Thunderbolt 3 connection, with its aluminum sides and plastic top / base. The port options are also not so abundant, but it has at least one advantage over its more expensive brother: the HDMI 2.0 output, capable of transmitting 4K 30Hz video and audio to basically any TV, monitor or projector.
In addition, here we have two USB-A 3.1 ports, an extra USB-C port (which can be used to connect the dock to the outlet and charge your computer / tablet up to 60W) and an SD card reader UHS-II.
The USB-C Travel Dock is available for sale on the OWC website at $ 40 in four colors that match your MacBook: space gray, silver, gold or rose gold. It has a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and can be delivered internationally (but don’t forget the fees).
Nice, isn’t it?
