THE Other World Computing yesterday announced two new features (1, 2) related to solid state drives, which you can check below.
The first is the company's new line of super-fast SSDs, including the Mercury Viper model.
The drive promises to be the fastest 3.5 ″ SSD (internal 6Gb / s SATA 3.0) on the market, offering a performance of up to 600MB / s.
It will be available in versions from 240GB to 2TB, with prices expected to be revealed within the next two months.
The other novelty is the Aura Pro and Envoy Pro solutions, specific for MacBooks Pro with Retina display of both 13 and 15 inches.
It is available in a 480GB version at $ 580 for Aura only and $ 630 for Envoy, which allows the user to continue using the flash memory module that originally came on the machine.
The Aura + Envoy pair is immediately available for purchase and comes with a three-year warranty from OWC.
