Osmo Action is the new 4K action camera from DJI, which arrives to be the direct competitor of GoPro
Thinking of serving the content creators, the Chinese DJI has just launched its newest steel camera: the Osmo Action. A leader in the drone segment, the company had already presented in 2018 the compact Osmo Pocket, to compete directly with the GoPro.
The new Osmo Action a warning that the DJI did not come to play in that segment. At first glance, the camera draws attention by having two screens: front (1.4 inch) and rear touch sensitive /touch screen (2.25 inches) with fingerprint marks, both colored and high-gloss.
The 750 nits of maximum brightness ensure that the user can view their records even with poor lighting, even with sunlight reflecting on the screen, according to the manufacturer.
The design resembles the series Hero 5, 6 and 7 from GoPro, however, the lens has a circular shape. The highlight is the possibility of produce 4K video at 60 fps (frames per second) or HDR at 30 fps. The 12 megapixel lens, with a 1 / 2.3 inch sensor and RockSteady, an electronic stabilization (ESI). The model is waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and allows use even at low temperatures.
The lens has three layers of glass accompanied by another protection against dust, liquids, reflection and fingerprints.
The 1,300 mAh battery lasts 93 minutes and 135 minutes for video recording in 1080p at 30 fps. To assist in the economy, the DJI Osmo Action allows the front screen to be turned off even using the rear. The full recharge time takes about 90 minutes.
Other features of DJI Osmo Action
Just like in GoPro, a Osmo Action it has a function to control the camera by voice (currently available in English and Mandarin). Still on audio, the DJI included two microphones and a speaker.
For action scenes, the DJI Osmo Action it has the slow camera function, which is available in the modes: 8x to 1080p and 240 fps; and 4x at 1080p and 720 fps, providing footage at 240 fps, in addition to the famous timelapse.
To make its use even more attractive, through the application DJI Mimo, available for Android and iOS, you can connect the steel camera to other devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, to have access to the captured files and perform live transmissions.
The proposal of this model allows the user to record moments with creativity, even in environments with great challenges. The new DJI Osmo Action it is available in the United States and costs US $ 349. For now there is no forecast to reach the Brazilian market.
