The morning of this Monday (13) were revealed the nominees 92th edition of the Oscars. The award takes place only on February 9, which is enough time to watch the titles competing in the main category: Best Picture. You can meet the nominees in this link.
This year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced nine feature films – a record for the award, which accepts up to ten films in this category. The vast majority are still in theaters, while some can be viewed on streaming services such as Netflix. It is likely that by the time of the ceremony, at the beginning of the next month, everyone will be accessible on internet platforms. We will update this news if this happens.

1917

Directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, 007 – Skyfall Operation), who already took a Golden Globe for Best Picture, 1917 You have a relatively simple story. Two British soldiers are sent on an almost impossible mission to alert a battle to an ambush in the middle of the war. In an act of heroism, one of the soldiers decides to cross the battlefield to reach the final destination and avoid the extermination of his comrades.
In the cast are names like Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman. And here's an interesting feature: The whole movie was edited to look like it was recorded in a unique sequence.
Lovely women

Sisters Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Beth (Eliza Scanlen), Meg (Emma Watson), and Amy (Florence Pugh) mature into adolescence as the United States goes through the Civil War. With completely different personalities, they face the challenges of growing together in their love for each other. The cast also features Timothe Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk, Louis Garrel and Tracy Letts.
Joker
Joker, by director Todd Phillips, an original and fictional story about the only villain ever seen in the movies. Phillips' version of Arthur Fleck, memorably played by Joaquin Phoenix, shows a man struggling to integrate Gotham's shattered society. Working as a clown during the day, he tries his luck as a stand-up comedian at night, but discovers that the joke himself always. Trapped in a cyclical existence, oscillating between reality and madness, Arthur makes a mistaken decision that causes a chain reaction, with increasingly serious and lethal consequences, in this bold exploration of the character.
The feature was one of the most talked about of 2019, and has already earned Joaquin Phoenix the Golden Globe for Best Actor.
Once Upon A Time… Hollywood
Los Angeles, 1969. Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a TV actor who, along with his dubl, is determined to make his name in Hollywood. To this end, he meets many influential people in the film industry, which leads to the murders of Charles Manson at the time, including actress Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie), who at the time was pregnant with director Roman Polanski (Rafal Zawierucha ).
Ford vs Ferrari

Jojo Rabbit

Germany during the Second World War. Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) is a 10 year old Nazi who treats Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi) as a close friend in his imagination. His biggest dream is to participate in the Hitler Youth, a prz Nazi group of others who agree with his ideals. One day Jojo discovers that his mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a Jewess (Thomasin McKenzie) in the house. After several failed attempts to expel her, the young rebel begins to develop empathy for the new guest.
The irlands
Known as “The Irlands,” Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro) is a decorated war veteran who reconciles the life of a trucker with that of the mafia's number one hired killer. Promoted to union leader, he becomes the prime suspect when the association's most famous former president mysteriously disappears. The film directed by Martin Scorsese.
Parasite

One of the most awarded movies of 2019, Parasite mix comedy along with drama, suspense and a hint of terror after an unexpected turning point. In the plot, we accompany two families – one poor and one rich – who are gradually involved in a work of chance. Let's not talk too much so as not to spoil the surprises, but know this: one of the best movies released last year.
