OpenToonz Now Available to Install Via Snap

On the afternoon of Thursday (3), Ubuntu showed that OpenToonz, one of the world's most popular 2D animation tools, is now available for Snap installation. At first, Snap from the program is supported by the Snapcraft community, but it does not close the door for the team to come together and give frequent and related updates.

How to install OpenToonz?

Installing OpenToonz is very simple, but first, if you are on a system that does not have snapd installed (this guy that will enable snapping in Distro), we have a very complete article explaining how to install it, check it out.

As it still does not appear in stores that support snapping, it will be time to use the terminal for now, but it does not mean that in the near future it is no longer in stores, for now the process is as follows:

Open the terminal and type the following command:

sudo snap install opentoonz

Just wait for the installation to finish and then look for OpenToonz in your favorite distro's menu.

With this simple movement, we can see that Canonical's Snap format can be a gateway for companies in the Linux world, as we commented on the Diolinux Friday Show, facilitating their migration to the platform and dispelling some myths such as system fragmentation. It is the impossibility of serving all the different distros, but with the use of Snap it falls apart.

Tell us in the comments if you use OpenToonz and if you liked the news of it being distributed via Snap.

Hope to see you next, big hug.
