OnePlus 6T brings cutting edge features for half the price of the iPhone XS Max

After Xiaomi and Huawei, OnePlus finished the Chinese crack and today presented his creation that will fight in the smartphone market for the next months. Following its tradition of launching a device a year and updating it in the middle of the road with occasional news, the country’s third wall force announced today the OnePlus 6T – an improved version of OnePlus 6, released in May.

The Chinese device’s new device has been a frequent presence on rumored and leaked sites in the Android world for some time, and the final revelation didn’t bring much news – which doesn’t make it any less impressive. The 6T has a design similar to its predecessor, with curved glass and screen rear (6.4 inches, AMOLED, FHD +) occupying almost the entire front surface; a notable change is in the cutout, which is now tiny and has a “drop” shape, housing only the 16 megapixel front camera. The lower “chin” has also decreased significantly.

The rear cameras are 20 and 16 megapixels and offer 2x optical zoom; their software also brings news with a feature to capture better photos in low light environments and a tool similar to the iPhones Portrait Lighting Mode, which simulates the lighting techniques of professional studios.

The OnePlus 6T is also the first smartphone to bring to the West a feature that has already caused quite a stir in the Apple rumors industry: the digital reader embedded in the screen. It works even with the device in standby mode and, according to the manufacturer, it is as fast and reliable as the components of the predecessor devices, which were on the rear surface. As an option it never hurts, however, the 6T also features facial recognition (which is less safe, it is worth noting).

Other specifications include a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, 3,700mAh battery and fast charging support – the wall charger and cable included in the box leave the device with 50% battery in less than 30 minutes, which should make Apple ashamed. Despite this, OnePlus still does not support wireless charging; the 6T also has no certificate of resistance to liquids and the manufacturer classifies it only as “splash resistant”.

These are the concessions that are made to sell the OnePlus 6T, a device with top-of-the-line specifications (and size), for half the price that Apple charges for the iPhone XS Max. $ 550 for the 6GB RAM version and 128GB storage, jumping to $ 580 (8GB / 128GB) and $ 630 (8GB / 256GB).

It will be sold in two versions, both black (one matte and one shiny), and for the first time through an operator in the United States – T-Mobile. Likewise, it is the first device from OnePlus to bring support to the network of Verizon, the largest American operator. In other words, yes, the Chinese woman is coming to the game … is she physically fit?
