The finance minister of Ukraine, Oleksandr Danyliuk, announced on Facebook that Apple's payment service has arrived in the country!
With the expansion, Ukraine is the 28th region of the globe to receive Apple Pay; in Brazil, the service arrived last April and supports, for now, only Banco Ita.
During Apple’s second quarter earnings release at the end of last month, Tim Cook mentioned that the Apple Pay it would expand to some European countries like Norway, Poland and Ukraine in the coming months.
For now, Apple's service in Ukraine is offered to customers of PrivatBank bank (the largest there, according to Wikipedia), with support for Visa and Mastercard cards. Another financial institution in the country, the Oschadbank bank, has already shown interest in joining the program and may be included soon.
With the expansion to Ukraine, there is now the question of when Poland and Norway will also receive the mobile payments service from Apple.
