Of the 100 best selling games in 2016 on Steam, 40 run on Linux

We are still far from the ideal scenario for Linux gamers, but there are already a good amount of games for the platform being released, only last year there were over 1000 titles, many indie games and some triple A, but it is worth noting that 40 % of Steam's best selling games in 2016 are already available on the platform.

Depending on your style of play, Linux can already be considered a platform for you to play without having to pirate the operating system, or pay a license for it. In fact, nearly half of the top 100 bestselling games on Steam in 2016 already run on the "penguin system", to be exact, 40.

It is also true that many important and well-known titles do not yet have version for the system, such as The Witcher 3, GTA V and Fallout 4, which weigh heavily against it, but other important titles will also come to the platform, such as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dying light and the popular CS: GO, in addition to a number of other important but less expressive headlines, such as Rocket league, Dota 2, XCOM2, Ark: Survival Evolved, Pay day 2, Life is strange, etc. which also already run on Linux.

Windows is the platform that receives virtually all computer game releases, but good to see Linux grow slowly, macOS didn't have as many more products on the bestseller list, while Linux had 41 items, Apple's system had 46 (this includes the Steam controller), and Steam has been on MacOS longer than Linux, though not so long, perhaps this comparison is fairer.

The more multiplatform games out there, the better for us gamers. We will not be stuck with a specific platform and we will have, in addition to a good system to play for free and legally, a more secure and customizable operating system, and also encourage competition between platforms for differentials, ie everyone has the win.
