Almost two years after Google announced an algorithm capable of erasing obstructions in photographs, the search engine was about to add the technology to Google Photos.
At least that?s what shows a teardown, made by 9to5Google, when finding clues that the functionality would be about to appear in a future version of the service for Android.
Unlike other similar apps, Google Photos will use its machine learning to reconstruct the photos and minimize potential visual defects caused by automatic removal.
?The latest version of Google Photos includes two sets of references to types of image obstructions: ?Photographic reflection? and something called ?Occlusion?. It looks like Google can expand the feature to fix a number of common image errors, ?says the blog.
Whether the feature will be made available only for Pixel, this remains to be seen.
