NPD data indicates 26% annual growth in Mac sales in July

After talking earlier about smartphones, the NPD Group issued updated data on Mac sales in the United States this afternoon that were also very positive for Apple.

New MacBooks Air aside

According to Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, Mac sales grew 26% year on year in July, the first to account for their performance in the fiscal quarter ending in September. As a result, he already predicts that Apple will easily beat Wall Street expectations, selling 4.4-4.6 million Macs in the period. The analyst points to this last growth mainly coming from OS X Lion and the launch of the new MacBooks Air and Macs mini.

Munster maintained an “overweight” rating for Apple's shares, with a target price of $ 607. NASDAQ: AAPL is up 0.32% at this time, quoted at $ 357.17.
