The developer responsible for the Nova Launcher app, Kevin Barry, had already warned through his Google+ profile that he would put the launcher closer to what Android 4.4 brought to the OS, but without losing many Jelly Bean features. And version 2.3 of Nova Launcher that's right, albeit in beta.

Most of the changes concern UI. Below you will find a list with an overview of the changes and the way you should go to configure them:

  • KitKat scroll indicator (Settings> Desktop> Scroll Indicator)
  • KitKat Folder (Settings> Folders> Folder Background> Circle)
  • KitKat Font (Settings> Appearance> Icon Font> Condensend – requires Android 4.1 and up)
  • KitKat Apps Drawer (automatically activated)
  • Transparent Notification Bar (s KitKat:> Settings> Appearance> Transparent Notification Bar)
  • The scroll indicator tab changes as tabs change
  • The scroll indicator above the current tab relative app drawer
  • The scroll indicator animation itself for infinite scrolling
  • External SDcard Backup / Restore (on devices with SDcards)
  • Fast vertical app drawer scroll
  • Correes and optimizations

Some considerations

Most menus and the app drawer are still Jelly Bean style. And unfortunately, integration with Google Now in the style of Google Experience Launcher not possible yet.
