Today, two major companies in the mobile industry presented their newest smartphones. THE Nokia expanded its line of cell phones running Windows Phone, introducing the Lumia 920 compatible with the eighth version of the Microsoft system. Motorola Mobility, a Google subsidiary, announced three devices in its RAZR line, running Android “Ice Cream Sandwich” 4.0.
During Microsoft's presentation on its next mobile phone operating system, Windows Phone 8, Nokia introduced the Lumia 920, with Snapdragon S4 processor dual-core 1.5GHz running under a giant 4.5 inch screen. To support all of this, a 2,000mAh battery, which can be recharged by induction, accompanies the smartphone. For comparison, the iPhone 4S battery has only 1,420mAh. New Windows Phone 8 features were also introduced, which can now take pictures of the screen.
Motorola has already launched three new devices, the RAZR HD, RAZR Maxx HD and RAZR M. Practically the same, they differ only in some characteristics. The RAZR HD has a 4.7 ″ screen in Super AMOLED HD. The RAZR Maxx HD is the previous one with a more powerful battery, capable of up to 21 hours of talk time. The RAZR M is a smaller version, with a “just” 4.3 ″ screen in a leaner body.
Launched jointly with the American operator Verizon Wireless, all devices have support for 4G LTE technology, processor dual-core 1.5GHz and 1GB of RAM.
These smartphones are expected to compete directly with the next iPhone, which is due to be launched on September 12th, at a special Apple event which will have full coverage of , of course. Then, next week, we'll see what Apple has prepared for the competition.

Update
As said by some readers in the comment field, Nokia has also launched the Lumia 820, a leaner version of the 920. The new device comes with the same 1GB of RAM and processor dual-core 1.5GHz, but come with a 4.3 inch WVGA OLED screen and only 8GB of expandable storage space via microSD. The Lumia 820 comes with support for 4G LTE technology, and is expected to reach the American market through operators in the fourth quarter.
