Next generation of Google Chromecast could arrive with Bluetooth support

A new device Google Chromecast can be launched by the company during the Google I / O fair, which runs from May 8-10. The next generation gadget will be updated with Bluetooth support, and the current device will only be able to connect with other devices via Wi-Fi.

Google has filed an application with the FCC to certify a new version of Chromecast of the second generation, according to the Twitter user. roopakv. The new version has the same hardware as the first, but with Bluetooth functionality enabled on the chip.

Although the new model is almost identical to the existing device, the FCC claims that the next Chromecast will not receive software updates to enable Bluetooth operations.

In any case, the existing second generation model has 2.4GHz / 5GHz Wi-Fi and 2.4GHz Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no confirmation yet of how Google will deploy Bluetooth on Chromecast, but we will wait for the Google I / O conference to see if the new device appears.
