Many readers have asked us if all the news from the watchOS 6 will come to all compatible models (ie from Series 1). Well, almost all of them do; almost.
As you know, the new operating system will come with six new dials. The bad news is that all but two will be exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 4 (logical, onwards).
The two that will come to all models are the Numeral dials (Mono and Duo):
All others, including Degrad, California, Solar Display and Compact Modular, depend on the larger screens that run to the sides of the watch case:
Of course it's justifiable, and it makes sense for Apple to explore these larger screens on new dials, but it's still a cold bucket for those who still have a perfectly functional Apple Watch Series 2 or 3, for example.
This is also a way for Apple to "spur" the upgrade to newer models. At the September special event, where she is due to launch new iPhones, Watch Series 5 is also expected. For now, we have not seen any leaks about it.
