New scissor keyboard would have delayed the release of the 16 ″ MacBook Pro

It is very common to hear that “one thing takes another”, and when it comes to technology this is even more applicable: in recent months, we have followed a series of rumors (most of them reported by the analyst Ming Chi Kuo) about the launch of the 16-inch MacBook Pro 2019. Moreover, the news would be marked by the reintroduction of the keyboard scissors in place of the troublesome butterfly mechanism. Now, however, the same analyst points out that Ma's plans may have changed.

According to Kuo's latest notes, Apple plans to announce a new model of MacBook with scissors keyboard only in 2020, more precisely between the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third in time, perhaps, from the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2020. But let's not mix things up: the analyst quotes only "a scissors keyboard MacBook," and not the infamous 16 ″ MacBook Pro.

However, on the basis of speculations previously reported by Kuo himself, the scissor keyboard re-release would come with the release of the 16 ″ MacBook later this month. So either one: either the big new MacBook Pro is about to be released (but with the butterfly keyboard), or the whole piece set (16 ″ MacBook Pro and scissors keyboard) will be released next year. , same.

There is also a third hypothesis, raised by AppleInsider: It may be that Kuo is referring to a likely return of the 12 ″ MacBook, which was discontinued last July after the release of new MacBooks Pro and Air. This, however, is a far farther possible, in my humble opinion.

Still according to Kuo, the Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron be the main supplier of parts for the scissor keyboard by 2020. Meanwhile, sources of dubious DigiTimes They said last week that mass production of the 16 ″ MacBook Pro had already started in China.

So many variants and no certainty. So we can only see it to believe it.
