New renders give you an idea of what some of the secondary buildings in the upcoming Apple Campus 2 will look like

The main building may be the star of the show that will be the Apple Campus 2, but don't forget: a series of smaller structures: receptions, restaurants, warehouses and everything else sharing space with the glorious donut It is giant and, although without the same importance, they are interesting projects worthy of our attention.

Today, we mere mortals, we can take a first look at some of these projects through renders submitted by Apple for architectural analysis at the last administrative hearing in Cupertino. They were released by Silicon Valley Business Journal.

From the drawings, we can see that the constructions will follow the same design language as the main building, even if not literally: the same abundant use of glass and metals is noted, the same care with the meticulously integrated structures invisible, even the construction elements and the search for the integration of the internal-external, often without clear divisions of environments. The project of architect-popstar Norman Foster and his firm Foster + Partners.

The reception centers refer to the Campus Visitor Center, previously exposed, and the beautiful Apple Retail Store – Stanford, with its walls entirely of glass and the ceiling in one piece (unibody, if you prefer 😛). There will be two of these on the ground, serving as a port of entry for visitors (while the Visitors Center is likely to have a more “touristy” function, with restaurant and gazebo).

These renders they show at least two restaurants that will be in the central, open area of the “spaceship” and another dining area, the main one, will be inside the building itself. The simple steel structures with wooden pergola serving as a roof point to a restaurant in the style of American "cafeterias", with service through a counter and tables and chairs on the outside.

Finally, we have the projection of an ultra-modernist warehouse of approximately 500m, which will be used for depositing gardening equipment and all the necessary tools for maintaining the campus considering its size, there will be few.

In a related note, in this same Cupertino audience where Apple presented the drawings above, the Council requested two small changes to the Campus 2 project, both related to the location of the fences that limit the terrain: in addition to changing their layout in the nearby areas. to one of the reception centers to allow a better view of the "spaceship", it was advised that the fences as a whole be positioned in such a way that "the prominent visual element is the landscaping, not the fences themselves".

These are details that will certainly contribute to the grandeur of this impressive project and was initially conceived by none other than Steve Jobs himself.
