new productions may be presented on the 19th; comedy series gets trailer

Apple TV+

Amid the news of Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, it is clear that we could not leave the good news of Cupertino behind – related, more precisely, to the Apple TV +.

Participation in the Television Critics Association

For the first time, Apple will be present on the press tour of Television Critics Association (TCA), as disclosed by the event organizers. As the closing attraction of the event, the company is expected to take the opportunity to disclose new content from its platform, as informed by IndieWire.

Generally, large broadcasters and studios like Fox, ABC, NBC and HBO they use press tours to announce changes to the schedule and the big news for next season. The event started last Tuesday (7/1) and will run until the 19th of this month, when the Apple will be presented.

Although Apple is the only one to perform on the 19th, the company will dispute the media’s attention with the news from other giants of the streaming, like the Amazon Prime Video it’s the Hulu. There are no details on what Apple can announce, however expectations are high: the company may provide more details of its next comedy. «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet» (as we’ll see below) or publicize other future productions, like the series «Little America» or the documentary “Visible: Out on Television”.

Trailer of «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet»

Recently, Apple shared the first official trailer of its next new series «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet», which will debut on the day February 7, as previously disclosed. In addition, all nine (half-hour) episodes of the first season will be released at once.

The comedy follows a team of game developers as they face the challenges of running a game (which bears the same name as the series). The production was created (and stars) by Rob McElhenney, with Charlie Day (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) as a co-writer.

Interview with Rob McElhenney

In an interview with Variety, McElhenney said that Apple was “really important” in the creative process of «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet».

In this sense, service executives provided tips and opinions on aspects of production that were “loose”, even contributing to the organization of the cast (which goes against the claim that company executives did not interfere with productions).

Deference assumes that we always know what we are doing, and when we enter the room, everyone should be quiet. This is dangerous, because then you have no opposition and you don’t know what the best process is.

Regarding criticism of the content on Apple TV +, McElhenney said that Apple is «working on some problems» and that the company always provides the necessary support.

Whenever we contact [com a Apple] to say that there is a problem, they immediately send someone and solve everything to move forward.

About «Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet», McElhenney says that the production differs from another great title “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, in which he participated, through the characters. While in the second the main characters are «horrible», in the first the audience will have to become fond of the protagonists.

Indeed, we will see all of this when the series is released on 7/2. Anxious?
