Launched in mid-July, the new MacBooks Pro with Touch Bar were approved by the National Telecommunications Agency a few days ago (both 13 ″ and 15 ″ models). With the approval of Anatel, the machines are now available for purchase in Brazil.
Here are the prices (up to 12x; paying cash, there is a 10% discount):
- R $ 16,199 – 13 ″ with 2.3GHz i5, Iris Plus 655, 8GB (RAM) and 256GB (SSD)
- R $ 17,799 – 13 ″ with 2.3GHz i5, Iris Plus 655, 8GB (RAM) and 512GB (SSD)
- R $ 21,299 – 15 ″ with 2.2GHz i7, Radeon Pro 555X, 16GB (RAM) and 512GB (SSD)
- R $ 24,599 – 15 ″ with 2.6GHz i7, Radeon Pro 560X, 16GB (RAM) and 512GB (SSD)
The new machines feature 8th generation Intel Core processors with up to six cores (on the 15 ″ model) for up to 70% faster performance, and quad-core (13 ″ model) for up to 2x faster performance. In addition to the processor improvements, the update includes support for up to 32GB of RAM, a True Tone display and a third generation keyboard (which corrects – or not – the problem that has been affecting all generations of this butterfly mechanism).
They also support up to 4TB (15 ″ model) and 2TB (13 ″ model) of SSD – the top-of-the-line models, however, without customization, continue to be offered by default with 512GB, have a display that offers 500 nits brightness and support for the P3 color gamut, as well as Apple’s T2 chip (which offers enhanced system security with support for secure boot and instant encrypted storage, as well as bringing the “Hey, Siri” feature to the Mac for first time).
