The novelty may be due to support for Apple Pencil, but TrendForce did not specify which model would count on this – my bet is that the likely candidates are devices with OLED displays.
Regarding prices, the firm believes that Apple should adjust its sales strategy, influenced by Chinese brands that have grown surprisingly in the last year with products that offer high performance at affordable prices. In this sense, and also to maintain its profitability, Apple is negotiating with its suppliers to reduce the cost of some components both for the probable intermediate model of the new 6.1 ″ iPhone and for products used in previous generations. gadget.
In the meantime, the 6.1 ″ model can count, in addition to Face ID technology, with the function dual-YES (two chips), although the firm does not mention two different versions of this model – one with and one without – she stressed that this feature will be exclusive for some regions. Due to processor and memory upgrades, the cost of this model would be close to that of the iPhone 8 Plus, however, Apple will have to adjust prices to meet market expectations. TrendForce estimated the starting price of this version at around $ 700 and $ 750.
Regarding the two models with OLED screen, both should have 4GB of RAM and storage options for 64GB, 256GB and 512GB. In addition to the size of the display, the difference would naturally be due to the price: the 5.8 ″ model, despite being the successor to the iPhone X, may come out even cheaper than the current one flagship from Apple, costing between $ 900 and $ 950, according to TrendForce forecasts.
