New 13 ″ MacBook Pro Benchmarks (without Touch Bar) Show Performance Equivalent to Previous

At yesterday's special event, after presenting the new MacBooks Pro 13 and 15 inch with Touch Bar, Apple said it would also market a 13 ″ model with traditional physical function keys and some lower technical specifications.

The machine, which costs $ 1,500 in the United States and comes to Brazil for $ 11,500 (cof!), Comes with a 2GHz Intel Core i5 processor (with Turbo boost up to 3.1GHz), 256GB SSD, 8GB of 1,866MHz memory, Intel Iris 540 graphics and only two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Since this is the only new MacBook Pro that is already available in stores, Geekbench Browser benchmark. And they put the machine well matched with the 13-inch MacBook Pro released last year: in a comparison, the test single-core even lower (3,556 from the previous versus 3,457 from the new), but higher in multi-core (6,676 against 6,896). In this case, the comparison between a fifth generation Core i5 running at 2.7GHz versus a sixth generation at 2GHz is far more energy efficient.

But that's just the beginning, obviously. It's interesting to see the earnings of the high-end models with Touch Bar because this entry-level MacBook Pro was presented as a good upgrade option for MacBook Air owners, not for those who already had a Pro.
