Netflix is ​​developing a new interactive series format that will allow you to choose the ending. According to the news agency Bloomberg, from sources linked to the streaming company, the novelty should debut by the end of the year. The agency also says that the intervention in the plot will be available in one of the episodes of the new season of "Black Mirror", expected in December 2018 and which deals with a distinct future dominated by technology. Netflix has not officially commented on the matter.
Netflix has experienced elements of interactivity in content aimed at children. In the "Kids" section of the platform, the cartoon "Puss in Boots: Stuck in a Peak Tale" offers methods to influence the plot of the characters, as well as alternative endings to choose from.

In the drawing, the main character communicates with the audience right at the beginning of the adventure, with the explanation of the rules of the game and the way to choose the various paths offered by the narrative. The user can also go back and change his decision to find out what would happen if he had made a different choice.
It is not yet clear how Netflix will implement the element of interactivity in series for adults. Experts heard by Bloomberg believe that it is unlikely to replicate the method seen in children's content in longer series, with more complex and elaborate scripts.
The novelty should be released gradually, especially when considering the high costs of production. To get an idea, a traditional film usually has a 100-page script, whereas an interactive feature film requires more time and investment to develop scenes based on the audience's decisions.
