Netflix Launches Cheapest Mobile Subscription Plan in India | Audio and Video

Netflix today announced a new low-cost mobile-only plan that costs 199 copies, equivalent to just over $ 10. Subscription lets you play movies and series from the collection in lower-quality HD and only one smartphone at a time. You can't also mirror your device content to a smart TV or using a device like Google's Chromecast.

In Brazil, the cheapest plan currently costs $ 21.90 per month and offers HD streaming on a device, be it a mobile phone, computer, television or console. The amount was readjusted in March 2019 before, the monthly fee was $ 19.90. It is not yet known whether the most affordable phone-only plan will be launched in the country.

The announcement of the new plan comes days after a negative result on Netflix's latest balance sheet released to investors. Although the year started well, the period between April and June was underperforming in terms of new user volume: of the expected 5 million subscribers, the company was able to capture only 2.7 million.

The company has struggled to capture a wider market in India. Although the country has more than 1 billion inhabitants, only 2 million subscribe to Netflix. One of the reasons for the performance would be the high popularity of rivals such as Amazon's Prime Video, and especially the Hotstar site: owned by Disney, the service has about 300 million paying users in the Asian country.
