MusicKit JS takes Apple Music to the web; it will be possible to search for songs by lyrics on iOS 12

The day before the opening keynote of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2018, there was a buzz due to some changes in the widget of Apple Music that can be incorporated into the sites. During the event (not in the main keynote, in itself) it was revealed what actually allowed these changes: the introduction of the framework MusicKit JS.

Announced at a WWDC18 video session (which, remembering, will happen until Friday), the framework brings the possibility of playing “MusicKit on the web”.

MusicKit has made it possible to create new attractive and engaging app experiences with Apple Music technology. With the introduction of MusicKit on the web, as a developer, you can now take Apple Music experiences to the web. Learn how to use declarative markup or JavaScript to activate Apple Music on your website.

With MusicKit JS, developers will be able to allow Apple Music users to play entire music from playlists embedded in applications by JavaScript. But that's not all: users will also be able to create playlists and add / play any of the titles available in the service catalog, directly through the browser and without using plugins.
