Apple chooses a weekly Movie of the week at the iTunes Store, whose purchase (even in 4K / HDR, depending on production) R $ 9.90, and we do MacMagazine we also took the opportunity to mine other offers with the same value.
The title selected by Apple this time was “Joker”, with Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro, directed by Todd Phillips.
Check out his trailer:
Here is the synopsis of the film:
“Joker” revolves around this iconic archenemy and is an independent and original story never before seen on the big screen. The way they exploit Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man ignored by society, is not only a case study of behavior, but also a great lesson in life.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio [@tripalavra], who is a movie buff, also sent us a comment about the film:
I begin this review by saying that, in the first 15 minutes of the film, Joaquin Phoenix already deserved the Oscar!
Here we have a rereading of “Taxi Driver”, now in the Joker’s garb. The similarities are evident, which are beyond the production and influence of Martin Scorsese. The film itself is a great drama, not necessarily the best production I have ever seen, but certainly – due to the work as a whole – it is worth being seen and considered as part of the dark universe of comics.
Of course, there are several versions of the villain, violent and funny lines for all audiences and that please (or not). But in this one it’s interesting that, when the movie ends, you get the feeling that Batman might not even fit there, that the character is so strong that he can go his own way.
Todd Phillips said he never thought of a straight, but we know that when it comes to money, anything is possible. Another interesting point is that, according to rumors, the new Batman movie will take place in a post-Joker time sequence, highlighting a young Bruce Wayne, violent and with enough time distance to get involved with this villain. Wait!
I conclude by saying that it is an unmissable retelling, but that it does not follow a standard line and that it will not necessarily please everyone.
