Movie of the week: buy “The Man Who Changed the Game”, with Brad Pitt, for just $ 3!

In addition to App of the week, every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is only $ 3. The title selected this time was The Man Who Changed The Game, with Brad Pitt.

Check out his trailer:

Here's what Apple says about the movie:

A coach on a major baseball team turns his back on tradition when he begins to focus on statistics to hire more players for his team in this sport drama by director Bennett Miller, The Man Who Changed The Game. A disappointing end to the 2001 season, along with the loss of important players, heralds a year of rebuilding for Oakland A’s general coach Billy Beane (Brad Pitt): a complicated task given the team’s low budget. A chance encounter with statistician Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) points the way to using percentages to identify and hire undervalued and cheap players. Pitt gives a performance show as the technician full of initiative and determination who will not tolerate any opposition to his new radical plan in a film that is a fascinating study of characters and also a vivid recreation of the almost magical season of Oakland A's in 2002. O The Game Changer was nominated for six Oscars, including Best movie, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor for Brad Pitt and Best Supporting Actor to Jonah Hill.

As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio (@tripalavra), who is a cardholder, was also willing to send us a personalized comment about the film:

THE Movie of the week it deserves to be highlighted because, besides being based on real facts, it talks about the religion of baseball and how American fans treat the game. Production started and stopped in 2009, as its original format would look like a documentary, including putting testimonials from former players. Thus, the stadiums understood that the film would only reach a specific audience and not the world as they predicted. The director was then changed and production resumed in 2011. With a new script and focus, he tells of the struggle of a technician to put into practice new methods based on mathematics / logic in an environment so full of emotion. As in real life, The Man Who Changed The Game was a public, critical success and was crowned with Oscar nominations. I recommend watching and even recommending managers, directors and the like to assess how they manage their teams and their businesses (a testament to the effectiveness of the method that large teams and companies today use the model, which has been ridiculed for many years).

Enjoy!
