Every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week at the iTunes Store, whose purchase (even in 4K / HDR, depending on production) R $ 9.90. The title selected this time was “The Nun”, horror film by British filmmaker Corin Hardy.

One of the most successful horror franchises in cinema reaches the fifth film without wear. Like “Annabelle”, “A Nun” explores the myths presented in “Invocation of Evil” (2013), but creates an original micro-universe: in 1952 Father Burke (Demián Bichir) and the novice Irene (Taissa Farmiga) investigate the alleged suicide of a nun in a monastery with a sinister history in Romania. British filmmaker Corin Hardy creates a tense and personality suspense, thanks to the talent of Taissa, sister of Vera Farmiga, actress who has played the role of Lorraine Warren since the beginning of the series.

THE Movie of the week for some it is scary; for others, not so much; for me, it’s just a spin off. Drinking from the source of one of the most successful franchises in the horror genre of recent times, this production has an idea that sometimes gets lost in the middle of its script, taking advantage of a character very well created, but without due touch. The plot is not very captivating, with moments of fright, but that could have been further explored. I do not believe it deserves a continuation, but it is a fact that in Hollywood they make lemon, lemonade – that is, there is always room for more. I consider a horror movie okay, neither more nor less.
