Every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is only $ 3 through the iTunes Store. The title selected this time was The Great Wall, with Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe.
Check out his trailer:
Chinese director Zhang Yimou has already shown that steel cinema can rhyme with poetry in "Heri". Now, he repeats his aesthetic prowess in a millionaire overproduction. Set in the 11th century, the film is a mixture of historical peak and horror about a European mercenary (Matt Damon) who needs to join armies in ancient China to fight legendary monsters. Yimou spares no adrenaline and delivers fantastic battle scenes.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio (@tripalavra), who is a cardholder, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:
You know that movie that gives the impression that the main actor participated only for the money? Well, what I think of Movie of the week. The Great Wall had an interesting idea, after all, any film with one of the seven wonders of the world and with Matt Damon in the cast seems interesting. Add to that the great Willem Dafoe, who needs no introduction, and Pedro Pascal (“Narcos”). The combination should result in a box office success. However, not even the cast, the last locations and all the money invested could save this adventure. Not even the Chinese market, where they believed it would be a success, believed; the film sank.
To those interested, enjoy! 😀
