Movie of the week: buy “Lost on Mars”, with Matt Damon, for $ 3!

In addition to Free app of the week, every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is for $ 3.

The title selected this time was Lost in Mars, with Matt Damon.

Check out his trailer:

Here's what Apple says about the movie:

In Lost on Mars, Ridley Scott returns to the genre that enshrined his talent in classics like "Alien, the 8 Passenger" and "Blade Runner, the Hunter of Andrides".

The acclaimed director has always done well with calmer themes and the same is true in this film when astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) finds himself alone on Mars for years until he has a chance to be saved.

The exceptional settings are top notch and Drew Goddard's lively and striking script uses the videos from Watney's diary to bring humor and hope to this complicated situation.

As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio (@tripalavra), who is a cardholder, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:

Before talking about Movie of the week, I would like to remind you about the latest Oscars editions and how films about space have been dominating awards and box office lately.

Let's start in 2013, with the great Gravity with Sandra Bullock, in 2014 with the timeless Interstellar with Mathew MacConaughey, and finally in 2015 with Lost on Mars with Matt Damon.

Realize that all three had great directors, great cast and were Oscar winners in several categories.

Is it coincidence or did the formula really catch? Now returning to criticism, the film is very well done, with a great production and a very relaxed driving by Ridley Scott.

Sometimes I joke that this is a version of Nufrago on Mars, now with more technology and with Wilson transformed into a diary.

My tip? The iTunes Store could make a pack of three films, just like those that were made on DVD, and put it for sale or rent at a promotional price 😉

Enjoy! 😀
