Weekly, Apple chooses a Movie of the week at the iTunes Store, whose purchase (even in 4K / HDR, depending on production) R $ 9.90.
The title selected this time, which is repeated, was “Baywatch – SOS Malibu”, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron. Check out his trailer:
Here’s what Apple says about the movie:
Director Seth Gordon does not reproduce the same style as the 1990s series, but retains the charisma. In this film he is right to recreate “Baywatch – SOS Malibu” as a mocking comedy. Dwayne Johnson takes on the role of Mitch Buchannon, a lifeguard who fights crimes that threaten his beach, with the right dose of irony. The feature gains strength in self-destructive humor, especially when Zac Efron and Hannibal Buress are on the scene.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio [@tripalavra], who is a movie buff, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:
I start this week’s critique with the speech “The Rock” after receiving the “Golden Raspberry” award, which rewards the worst films of the year: “The film was made with the best of intentions, but it didn’t go as we wanted.” That sums up my thinking. The idea was the best of all: good actors, sex appeal, beautiful beaches … but nothing more. With grotesque script flaws, bad effects, a weak and tricky plot, the result was the award given just before the Oscar party. It serves as “Afternoon Session” and / or hobby, but not at all like that collection film or headboard.
