Movie of the week: buy “A Forma da Água”, by Guillermo del Toro, for R $ 9.90!

Every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week at the iTunes Store, whose purchase (even in 4K / HDR, depending on production) R $ 9.90. The title selected this time was “The Shape of Water”, by director Guillermo del Toro and winner of four Oscars (including Best Picture).

Here’s what Apple says about the movie:

“A Forma da Água” is one of the very rare cases of feature films that go beyond the limits of the genre to be recognized as a work of art in cinema. Mexican Guillermo del Toro mixes social criticism and horror fantasy to actually build a delicate romance between a silent cleaning lady (Sally Hawkins) and an aquatic creature (Doug Jones) trapped in a military facility during the 1960s. Awarded four Oscars, including best film and direction, the filmmaker showcases all of his well-known Gothic art direction in exciting and spectacular sequences.

As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio [@tripalavra], who is a movie buff, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:

Perhaps my opinion on the Movie of the week don’t be unanimous, but come on. Guillermo del Toro as always led a film with an exotic look. As in “O Labirinto do Fauno”, its plots use extravagant characters and common elements to deliver realities of our daily lives – many subliminally, others directly, but always tied to their scripts in shades “Dark”. There are almost always doubts as to whether we will see terror or drama in disguise. About this film itself, I thought it was good, but not one that I would commit to seeing several times or that I consider worthy of Oscar. I go further: the other film I mentioned above, I consider better and more attractive.
