Motorola launches new email app unintentionally reveals screenshots of Droid Maxx 2

Some leaks border the unlikely. It is sometimes obvious that companies miss out on one or another indication of their new devices to maintain public attention. This seems to be the case now: when launching its new email app on the Play Store, Motorola chose no less than the new release Droid Maxx 2 for illustrative screenshots. See below for more details.

The company was quick to remove the screenshots, but I still don't think it was a slip of some employee. Of course, the catches have been saved everywhere in the tech press, and show that certain email was sent from Droid Maxx 2.

Motorola fans know that the Verizon linked device in the United States goes by the name of Moto X Play in Brazil, so it is nothing new to the national public other than the company's own email application.

Its interface is very similar to Gmail's, but it has some interesting additions:

  • Disable sync while roaming;
  • Continuous email search capability;
  • Attach photos of the camera to the composer;
  • Attachment download failure / cancellation notifications;
  • New "Mark all" option for emails;
  • Customize peak time synchronization schedule;
  • New option to choose the number of emails to sync to POP account;
  • New secure communication with Gmail server using OAuth 2.0;
  • Bug fixes and stability enhancements.

Most Motorola devices have the app preinstalled, and on other devices I must have at least Android 5.0 to install the app. To download the Moto Email app, visit this link from the Google Play Store (Update Note: Because it is very new, proprietary Moto device readers are experiencing app compatibility issues at this time.)

Do you use the Motorola email app? What do you think about him?
