MacMagazine is in San Francisco covering the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2009, at the invitation of our friends at FingerTips.
A few days ago, we brought you several pictures of the unboxing of my new 17-inch MacBook Pro, updated by Apple at WWDC ’09. Today, we put our hands on a 13-inch MacBook * Pro *, also launched during the event the newest acquisition of one of our colleagues at FingerTips.
Outside the machine, perhaps the most significant / visible change is the addition of the “Pro” in its name. But the left side brings two very welcome news, which contributed to placing it in the category of Ma's professional laptops: the return of the FireWire interface now 800 and the addition of the new slot for SD cards, which in this case does not even replace the ExpressCard since he was not there before.

Oh yes: the 13 ″ MBP does not have a plug for digital audio input, it is now shared with the headphone. In addition, its lower part such as that of the 17 ″ model and the new 15 ″ no longer contains the battery compartment, which becomes non-removable, of longer duration.

Although much smaller than my 17 ″ MBP, the case of the model is more portable and the layout of the internal accessories is absolutely identical. It comes with the same cables / adapters outside and a folder with manuals, stickers and installation DVDs. There is no mystery, in that.

The machine is very compact, maybe not the keyboard, since the black border around the screen is much thicker than that of the 17 ″ model. Note the absence of speakers on the sides, they are already smaller at 15 ″, inclusive, which are under the keyboard. Even so, the sound that the bug produces leaves nothing to be desired.
And finally, owners of the 13 ″ model will also be able to enjoy a backlit keyboard:

Below, check out photos comparing this 13 ″ model with the 17 ″ model and the old 15 ″ model er, in the old model, the model previous to the one released last week by Apple:

The quality / brightness of the screen will be noticeable. The 17 ″ reigns, but differs little from the 15 ″ (the new one, however, seems to have improved a lot). The 13 ″, even this new one, is inferior even though it already has a fantastic display.
