Ming-Chi Kuo bets on “more aggressive” pricing structure for 2018 iPhones

Just over a month after leaving KGI Securities, the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is back with rumors about Apple now, ahead of TF International Securities.

Among the latest alleged information about Apple's plans brought by him is a “more aggressive” price structure for the 2018 iPhones. According to Kuo, Apple would be concerned about the negative impact of such high prices on a mature market such as smartphones which goes a little against the fact that the iPhone X has been the most sold model by her since its launch.

Kuo's bet that the expected “iPhone X Plus” (with a 6.5-inch screen) will occupy the range of US $ 900-1,000, the successor of the iPhone X will be US $ 800-900 and the long-awaited iPhone with LCD screen of 6.1 inches cost $ 600-700. All of them, says the analyst, will have screens occupying the entire front part, with Face ID.

Another reason for the "reduction" in prices, points out Kuo, would be an improved price structure now that the components used in the iPhone X TrueDepth system are cheaper. This really makes sense.

Finally, Kuo expects all three of these new iPhones to be announced at the same special Apple event in September, and to reach the market together.

If he gets it right (one more time) or not, time will tell.
